There are many different types of tent canopies and extensions you can get, such as; a front tent extension/canopy or even a side tent extension/canopy. These different canopies and extensions can come with an open front or an enclosed front which is generally called a tent awning.

The main usage of tent canopies or extensions is to create more space, which is ideal for when your going away on a longer camping holiday and need that extra bit of space for storage and general shelter. Another reason as to why you would want a tent canopy is because a number of tents will come with a sloping front and if it where to rain then you would have to close your door or else water would get into your living area. The tent extension gives you the ability to leave your tent door open and then you have much more space thanks to the tent extension.
